WEBINAR: North American LNG Winter Outlook 2018

A Look into What Winter Will Hold for the North American LNG Market

This webinar took place on Thursday, October 11 at 2:30PM ET

The North American liquefied natural gas (LNG) market is beginning to shift and grow into a global source of supply. As the market changes it is vital to stay up to date on infrastructure projects, displacement and shifting global dynamics. This webinar provided a deep dive on how to navigate the market and a look into current and planned infrastructure projects using Genscape's LNG monitoring tools.

As the market moves into 2019, LNG will be an increasingly important component of the North American gas market balance and flow dynamics. Specifically, increased exports from Sabine Pass, as well as start-up of Cameron and Corpus Christi facilities will boost LNG supply. The U.S. currently exports over 3 Bcf/d. Given the expectation of additional new capacity, by the end of March 2019, we project U.S. exports will breach 5 Bcf/d. Additionally, we anticipate the emergence of an LNG displacement dynamic at the Altamira and Manzanillo facilities in Mexico. This is an expected result of expanding Mexican cross-border natural gas pipeline capacity from the Permian this winter.

Topics that were covered in this webinar:

  • In-progress and planned North American infrastructure projects
    • Winter regulatory and new facilities operational outlook
    • New camera installations and monitoring insights
    • Operational dynamics and maintenance events
  • Impacts on the global LNG market
    • Mexico LNG displacement
    • China tariffs and shipping dynamics
